After this process, a great and fruitful two days and overnight at Bidston, producing lots of films, reading and writing from the cupola and flying flags from the rooftop.
I was interested in the idea of inhabiting a place, as an unseen and unofficial ghost of the building, rather than taking up a residency, being a guest. Both in Bidston and in the Hilton, I was allowed to inhabit a place at a strange period between one official use for guests or workers and another, Bidston between its previous use as a working observatory and its next use as an artist residence, the Hilton between guests. I also realised that I was looking for a temporary home.
